Creative Manufacturing Metal (Personal Protective Equipment)

In Creative Manufacturing we were told to post three different types of signs. (Mandatory, Prohibited and Hazard.) We had to describe each of them their colours, shapes etc.

Mandatory Sign

A mandatory sign is something that shows exactly what you must do for instance it's mandatory to wear a certain item of clothing or gear.

Mandatory signs tend to have a yellow background with a black shape in New Zealand.
You could find these signs in workshops specifically welding rooms, or the entire workshop/workplace.
Mandatory Signs RESPIRATOR MUST BE WORN

Prohibited Sign

A prohibited sign shows something that you cannot do at all for example it is prohibited to run.

These signs often have white backgrounds with red shapes.
You can find these signs in the workplace or near machinery.
Prohibition Signs LOOSE CLOTHING AND JEWELLERY PROHIBITED

Hazard Sign

A hazard sign is something that is warning you about hazardous materials or objects in the room.

A hazard sign could have a white background with black shapes and sometimes orange shapes.
You will often find these signs in storage rooms, or on cupboards containing hazardous material etc.
