Different Types of Government (Social Science)

What is the Government?

A government could be one or multiple people working in a collective group.
1. Write down any words you have never heard before and find the dictionary definition for them
I recognize the words.
2. Do you think that countries or communities that are bigger need a complex government system than small countries need?
I do think larger countries/communities require larger more complex government systems.
3. What benefits do you think people gain from being in a group?
The benefits of being in a group are being able to rely on somebody or if you need assistance there are a number of people to help you.
4. How can having a leader or group of leaders help people?
Having a single leader/dictator would mean they're able to immediately respond to situations without consulting a group of people. Having a group of leaders allows the government to diversify themselves into communities and know exactly what people need.
5. Why do you think some countries prefer to have no Government?
I feel it's because they want to stay free and have to listen to somebody or be directed on how to do something.
6. A government is considered to be fairer when different people/groups of people are responsible for each of these roles rather than one person is responsible for all three. Why do you think this is?
I think it is fairer because certain people specialize in specific topics, for example, police work, education, etc. Because they specifically specialize in those topics they know exactly what to do and how to do it.

Democracy
Democracy has four different elements they are:
1.  A political system for choosing and replacing the government through free and fair elections.
2. The active participation of people, as citizens, in politics, and civic life.
3. Protection of the human rights of all citizens.
4. A rule of law, in which the laws and procedures apply equally to all citizens.
From watching the human rights explained video I learned that after WWII people decided to have a list of rights and not rulers e.ge freedom of expression.

Dictators

A dictator is somebody with absolute control over the government and his/her country.
1. Adolf Hitler
2. Kim Jon Un
3. Joseph Stalin

5. Saddam Hussein
